I thought that the above critique was fair, but I wanted to add my own thoughts. Instead of going towards the sun, my eyes like to pinpoint certain areas of interest, and the most interesting parts were undoubtedly the beast's mouth as well as the glowing blue energy in the warrior (or is it wizard's?) fist. Like he is just now preparing to go all-out on this monster, and he needs that extra strength to get through. The design of the blade is also reminiscient of Deathscythe or the Grim Reaper, but that's not a bad thing in my humble opinion, since I was a huge fan of big scythes my own self when I was teenager. I gave you 4 stars on technique primarily because I almost didn't want the blurring around the edges, though I understand that's the artist's desire, and I respect that it does give a focal point. More my own subjective opinion than anything. All in all, a very original take on a monster that is often named in fiction.
